HIGHLANDS CINEMAS IS NOW OPEN
This week, Highlands Cinemas lost one of its most recognizable faces.
Gumpy Cat has passed away.
Many of you met him out front, saw him wandering the property, or were introduced to him through The Movie Man Documentary. He became an unexpected star, drawing visitors who wanted a photo, a sighting, or simply the chance to be judged or hissed at by that famous grumpy face.
The funny thing is that in his later years, Gumpy wasn’t nearly as gumpy as his reputation suggested.
Thanks to Keith’s love, patience, and care, the old fellow softened. He traded some of his complaints for naps, good meals, warm beds, and being patted. He still looked like he disapproved of everything, but those who knew him best saw a different cat.
Gumpy became part of the story of Highlands Cinemas. He was here through countless movies, visitors, and adventures. He brought smiles to people from all over the world, usually without making the slightest effort.
Rest easy, old man.
The show goes on, but it won’t be quite the same without you.
