I want to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for your patronage, generous donations to our cats, and for all the special comments from so many of you regarding how much the Theatre means to you. It was gratifying and humbling to say the least, and meant a lot. This season was something else, continuous supply problems, lack of movies, and difficulty finding staff to do the more important jobs. We will need more staff to get open next year so please spread the word. After being closed for two years it took quite an effort to get open again. We didn’t quite get the whole building open, as some of you noticed, so this winter will be finishing what we didn’t get done, and doing an upgrade on the museum displays.
On the cat front over the last few years we lost some feline friends to various diseases, as detailed on our other updates. We did seem to gain a few though!!! Jax & Willow were rescued from a feral group in the field. Jax has joined Minnie Me who’s brother died last year, and is proving to be good company. Willow is being merged with The Crew, to replace Hershey. Jack is feral and has been coming for food for a couple of years, so he was trapped and neutered. Unfortunately he tested positive for Feline FIV, so will have to be housed by himself with no contact with the other cats. Finally there is Hero, he was rescued in the middle of the night from a neighbours, he had been abandoned by his feral mom, and was being attacked by the other cats. He has recovered and is sprouting but being kept away from everyone else until he can be tested for FIV.
For those of you wondering where Gumpy Cat has been, he ran up quite a Vet bill in the spring and needs meds, so got moved into the house’s hospital wing, he now has his own personal cat door from his crate to the pens, and still enjoys going out and hissing and spitting at people. We’ll get his sign moved to the new pen soon. The clean up crew also returned. They get the popcorn left over at the end of the night. We have fed the bear for 30 years to keep it away from the building, after all they were here before me. That’s all for now.
